The article analyzes the possibilities of determining (diagnosing) education and its quality. Education is seen at the same time as the main mechanism of human socialization, through which it enters a broad context of life, discovers the adult world, masters the culture, practical and theoretical experience of generations. Education provides knowledge, forms competencies and values, builds a platform for the assertion of personality as independent and self-sufficient. The current and future path of a person, his successes or failures, achievements or contradictions, assertion or confusion and despair largely depend on the education obtained at school. The author argues that not only education determines the prospects for the establishment of man as a person. Her progress in life largely depends on the peculiarities of historical time and place of birth and growth, economic, political and spiritual and moral circumstances, material wealth of parents, and ultimately, from random twists of fate, which can only predict God. And yet education in this list of circumstances plays not the last role. It teaches, educates, warns, prompts (shows), offers options… Summarizing the socio-cultural experience accumulated by mankind, education opens the way that leads to success. The main condition is the requirement: education must be high quality. However, can it be diagnosed for quality today and now? What are the criteria and indicators for this process in schools and higher education institutions? What are the main conditions that society and the individual must meet in order to provide (obtain) quality education, and together with it to find an effective way to success. The answers to these questions are offered by the author in brief.
