TRAINING OF TEACHERS IN THE CONTEXT OF THE CONCEPT “NEW UKRAINIAN SCHOOL

Abstract

Effective education reform is impossible without appropriate changes in the training of pedagogical and scientific-pedagogical staff. Over the last half century, reforms in education have been carried out repeatedly. However, there was never even an attempt to change anything in the system of training pedagogical and scientific-pedagogical workers. The article stresses the importance of the main directions of improving their training. The concept of "New Ukrainian School" sets a number of requirements for the training of a new teacher. A teacher, on the one hand, should be into the teaching material of his/her subject (as well it is necessary to be aware of other subjects that are connected with the main one). Teaching methods, new learning technologies in order to ensure the implementation of personality-oriented, activity, competence and differentiated approaches are leading factors to become a professional teacher. The teacher of the new Ukrainian school should become a leader who not only loves his or her subject, one must teach it professionally. It is of great importance for a teacher to love children, takes into account their individual characteristics, focuses on intellectual and physical development of students and, processing the basic requirements of partnership pedagogy, provides a high level quality of educational activities and education in general. It is obvious that such a teacher can be trained in classical and pedagogical universities and colleges by appropriate trained scientific and pedagogical staff who not only have good teaching material in their subject, but also have high psychological and pedagogical training, demonstrate high pedagogical skills, give future teachers samples of quality educational activities. The article considers the main directions of improving the training of scientific and pedagogical workers. In particular, the following algorithms of their preparation are offered: "successful completion of master's degree – work at school (3–5 years) – postgraduate study with dissertation work – a teacher" or "successful completion of master's degree – postgraduate study with dissertation work - work at school (3–5 years) – a teacher".
