The article offers the statements for the perspective discussion around the mission, aims and perspectives of UNESCO Chair on Science Education at the National Pedagogical Dragomanov University trying to involve international readers into discussion. It was demonstrated, that chair is going to be the center of research, teaching and retraining activities in the field of science education in Ukraine developing the cooperation with the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine as a leader of practical implementation of science education approaches. The key result of the series directions of the chair activities is a formation of the new type of student thinking – when science is seen as a tool, a means to solve practical problems of a particular person, family, city, state, or more globally. The article demonstrates that chair can create the productive “bridges” between the Ukrainian methodologies of science education and the worldwide famous ones (TheoPrax, LAMAP, etc.) changing the Ukrainian educational environment.
