Abstract

The war of the russian federation against Ukraine stirred the whole world. Most countries condemn russia, support the fair struggle of Ukrainians against the aggressors, and provide us with serious military defense and humanitarian assistance. And although some peoples still do not understand the threat that this war poses not only to Ukraine, but also to the whole world, and which can lead to a global conflict with the use of nuclear weapons, the vast majority of peoples hope for its end, discuss the possibilities of ending the war, reconciliation, acceleration of the victory of Ukrainians over the aggressor. Among the proposals that ensure a Ukrainian victory, there are significant proposals for helping Ukraine with defensive weapons, strengthening international sanctions against russia, strengthening the unity of the world community, etc. The majority of intellectuals of the world appeal to spiritual weapons – the growth of human capital, the cultivation of the virtues of non-acceptance of cruelty and war, the importance in this context is given by the majority of thinking leaders of humanity to the cultivation of the virtues of non-acceptance of violence and war in a person, the formation of the ability to live according to the laws of peace and justice. As a rule, this social function is delegated to education and enlightenment, culture and education, science and religion. A clearly defined proposal is followed in the ‘Peace Formula’ proposed by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi. For this reason, education must make significant changes to its content, orientation, and worldview orientations. The categories of pacifism, democracy and freedom should become its central theme. The search for options for modernization of education in this context of education is gradually moving to the forefront not only in Ukraine, but also in the pedagogical practice of Ukrainian scientists and teachers.
