Abstract

The article analyzes the essence of readiness of future translators for localization as an integrated personal quality. In the context of the studied concept, the characteristics of the innovative activity of a modern translator within the localization of various products are presented. The concept of “readiness of future translators for localization” has been clarified, which includes several interrelated components: value-motivational, cognitive-communicative, activity-technological and personal. Criteria and indicators of the formation of readiness of future translators for localization are proposed, as well as their indicators (axiological criterion – language enthusiasm, communicative activity, axiological maturity; gnostic criterion – linguistic indicator, linguistic cultural indicator, procedural knowledge; instrumental criterion – discursive competence, specific (special) skills, technical skills; reflective criterion – metaprofessional personal qualities, reflective abilities, presentational competence), which make it possible to assess its formation on four levels (high, sufficient, satisfactory, low).
