PEDAGOGICAL CONDITIONS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF MEDIA LITERACY OF FUTURE OFFICERS OF THE NAVAL FORCES OF THE ARMED FORCES OF UKRAINE IN THE PROCESS OF PROFESSIONAL TRAINING

Abstract

The article describes the pedagogical conditions for the development of media literacy of future officers of the Naval Forces, such pedagogical conditions are of great importance. It is proposed to provide future officers with basic knowledge of media literacy and information security, supplementing the contents of «Ukrainian language for professional direction», «Political science and sociology», «Moral and psychological support for the training and application of the Armed Forces of Ukraine». With the use of non-formal education tools (distance and online courses, webinars) it is planned to expand the cadets’ understanding of the meaning of media, the specifics of evaluating the content of media messages and the main safety requirements when working with social media, the risks of using social networks, about the content analysis of social networks, the recognition algorithm manipulations in network communications. In order to practice the skills of searching and selecting information in media texts for participation in discussions on professional issues, the need for the introduction of interactive learning technologies has been determined. It is about the fact that during discussions, round tables, discussion of media texts, analysis of situations, it is advisable to offer cadets tasks that require a clear formulation of their opinion or argumentation of their position. In turn, the application of the research method is necessary for the cadets to gain experience in countering disinformation, negative informational and psychological influence. It has been proven that research methods have great potential for teaching future officers to navigate information flows, analyze and detect the manipulative effects of the media, and investigate the impact of the media on society in general with the help of so-called «codes», technologies. In general, all defined pedagogical conditions are aimed at teaching future officers to navigate the media world, distinguish information from official sources and messages of a manipulative or destructive nature. Systematic implementation of the specified conditions will help cadets gain the necessary experience in using media products, evaluating the content of media texts in accordance with the requirements of news standards, countering manipulative and disinformation influences.
