INDIVIDUAL STRATEGIES FOR ARTISTIC INTERPRETATION OF VISUAL ARTWORKS BY FUTURE ARTISTS

This article presents the results of an experimental study on the individual strategies for artistic interpretation of visual artworks by futu re artists. The investigated phenomenon is defined as a set of methods and approaches that individuals use to understand, interpret, and decode artworks. Three types of such strategies are identified and characterized: descri ptive, heu ristic, and sense-making. It has been demonstrated that individual strategies for artistic interpretation of visual artworks by futu re artists are directly dependent on the knowledgethesau rus, personal-empathic, and reflexive-critical primary contexts. The results of the study allow us to conclude the effectiveness of focusing the content of contemporary historical-art cou rses in higher art education institutions on the study of artworks as systems of signs and symbols based on the understanding of visual elements of the artistic text in their variability and multi plicity of meanings.
