ON THE QUESTION OF VIRTUAL REALITY: ONTOLOGIZATION IN THE CONTEXT OF SOCIAL COMPLEXITY

The article analyzes the results of solving the problem of systematizing theoretical and methodological approaches to understanding the concepts of “complexity” and “social complexity”. Foreign and domestic studies are analyzed. Understanding virtual reality as its existence in ontological, epistemological and anthropological dimensions is presented. It is shown that virtual reality has the properties of self-organizing complexity; creates new forms of social interaction of people – social virtualization of society; contributes to changing the boundaries of social communication; leads to fractality of the semantic space; sharpens the boundary between virtual and traditional social space; adds such phenomena as polytemporality and polyeventfulness. The purpose of the work is to conceptualize the cultural border in the context of social complexity. The formulated task is to systematize theoretical and methodological approaches to understanding the concepts of “complexity” and “social complexity”.
