A THOUSAND-YEAR HERITAGE: MADE BY UKRAINIANS

Abstract

One of the main tasks of the development of post-war education is to expand and deepen the Ukrainian-scientific component in its content. Its development would strengthen the conviction of pupils and students in the world greatness of Ukrainian culture, the achievements of which are enjoyed by many peoples and cultures of the world. The former foreign regimes under which Ukraine historically existed and with which it fought, fostered the negative image of the inferiority of the Ukrainian person. With the declaration of independence, this negative image was shaken. However, its symptoms still live in the healthy body of Ukrainian culture. Many in the world still consider our achievements to be Russian. However, Ukraine has historically won “its place under the sun” as a state and a people that has created and is building a culture of a civilizational type, a culture of high humanity, significance, and perspective. The current victorious struggle of Ukrainians against Russian aggression has practically convinced the world: Ukrainians are a hardworking, intelligent, creative people, capable, if necessary, of standing up for themselves and at the same time protecting Europe and the world from the aggressor. It is important that everyone knows about this. And for this reason, the aforementioned narratives should become leading in the system of post-war Ukrainian education.
