Abstract

This article, developed within the discourse of contemporary practical philosophy, addresses the argumentation of the thesis regarding the substantive interdependence of deontological theory and axiological knowledge. The paper demonstrates that proponents of deontological theory acknowledge that adherence to certain rules or norms depends on the extent to which they reflect and protect vital values. For adherents of value theory, there is a common conviction regarding an individual’s distinct potential for fulfilling duty, provided that its value foundations are internally accepted. Ultimately, it is concluded that the premise of the substantive interdependence between deontology and axiology is subject to paradigmatization, as it possesses methodological potential in the context of forming moral principles, attitudes, and associated internal imperatives – specifically serving as the foundation of professional duty, which is particularly crucial for representatives of ‘person-to-person’ professions.
